i finally moved to my new place in southbay. and i only have met 1 of my 3 roommates so far. also, me and my woman are very much in love. ラブラブですよ！

with that, i can start focusing on continuing making tape 20. i hope i can bring something fresh to the table. i was very satisfied with 18 & 19. i always try to aim to make the current tape better than the last.

i'm at SMC typing this while listening to songs i plan to use for tape 20 on the psp.

gonna be straight. check these albums out if you want a preview of what's to come.

disney? why might you want to check it out you ask? well, besides being nostalgic, they got some good remixes of them. meg, shinichi osawa, fpm, ayuse kozue, and more all in kahoots on this house album.

the DD remix album is note worthy for me. i love the beats on this one. especially the last track feat. KAT

i already composed a mini mix. there's just some problems i take in consideration. 1 is it's majority english vocals. honestly, it sounds great. i managed to put 1 jpn vocal song in there. good, bad, saaaaa.

also, ravex might release a few more songs soon. feat. monkey majik and BoA for sure. still waiting on for other songs to pop up. 2009 Q1 seems very satisfy-ing in terms of jpop. maki goto(?) has a good song: fly away.

first off, "thanks for listening to TAPES 18 and 19!"

today, i took some time to add 150+ songs to my library. for every mix i make, i add/sample 100-300 songs. naturally, i attempted to mix a bit. i spent a few hours and came up with 2 mixes. i should mention they are "incomplete" mixes.

mix A is a fast tempo. i need to tweak this one a lot. i got introduced to a female vocal. i believe RAM RIDER produced a song or two of hers. SAWA is the name. anywho, so much needs to be done for me to consider this mix. 20% confidence.

because of this, i wanted to try a slower tempo.

to give an idea of how much slower... well, from tape 19, if you can find this, "MAY'S" has released an album called "dreaming" this month and the "my everything" original, in jpn, is on there. that's the speed i'm working on. it's something i'm considering as a side mix.

i will attempt to mix again in around valentine's day. there are specifically 3 songs (as of now) i'm waiting for to be released. -LM

instead of studying today, i ended up watching 59th NHK Kouhaku. wow... i must say i was kind of bored. hey if you enjoyed it, great. but i only got excited at two or three parts; and Perfume's act was not one of them. i'm just gonna touch base on the show a bit.

-Ayumi? naw i stopped listening to her when the remix singles stopped
-seriously too much Enka; good karaoke/reading kanji practice
-my only "tingle" was during the Miyazaki part when i suddenly heard Ayaka Hirakawa's voice
-wish Kimaguren sang "Ai need" instead
-wish Ikimonogakari sang "Kimagure romantic" instead
-enya... why... sail away... sail away
-oh damn, Perfume perfume perfume... Yasutaka should have lowered the vocals on that edit so you can hear their voices better. sadly it made them seem like they were lip singing. i can hear them but not enough to overcome.
-JERO!! i knew about this guy before i moved out here. what really shocked me was he knew jpn. i was surprised and impressed. reason is that he has this blog, but from what i remember'd, his staff writes in it instead of him. also, i was moved to tears during y'know what. honestly wished the whole song ran.
-speed... man they scarred the other two who didn't sing. i'm a fan of Hiro so it was interesting. also lol after the song when the announcer said in jpn "now don't break up again"
-aoyama!
-very good last song. if you watch'd Honey & Clover(anime), just think of Morita
-would touch base on more artists, but that's it

when i get a "tingle", it's a good thing. it's when i hear a good song, beat, or voice that i personally like. it's like goosebumps.

in all honesty, i always go for the Red. but i kinda knew White was going to win... guu-wah, smap. now if i did Kouhaku my way... LM nanoni way... i'd direct the performances like my jmix tapes and Red would so win. plus it wouldn't run 4hrs+ long.

HMMM. i just started my college life again (with a dash of jdorama watching)... but i want to mention i'm trying to release "tape 20" mid-feb when my semester ends. there's other stuff to say but another time! -LM

the brand new car i bought, as of last week, it has been in the body shop. i got rear-ended on the 405. bastard. i was depressed for a bit. not being a car guy type, i actually went and hooked it up a bit. rims, exhaust/resonator, springs. then i get hit. sadly, my neck got messed-up a bit. so i'm in the middle of sueing the guy.

anywho, i mention this b/c with the money i'm getting ($_$) i'll finally buy the bpm program i've been meaning to buy ever since june. this in return means i can release some new mixes soon. sooooon.

summer music has been so-so. but this fall, a chunk of good material has caught my interest. i've been making mp3-cds so i can check out recent releases. my-my, i've been thinking up some good stuff. i just want to quit work and mix. but i don't make money off this. it's for my personal use and the fans i've made? wwwwwwwww... i mean haha...

anywho, i was planning on talking about who i am. but maybe another time. for the curious: i am not japanese, korean, or caucasian. "i am filipino with a high interest in japanese culture."

oh that last sentence sets me back a good memory.

besides work, i'm trying to get into CSULB for fall 2009. i just like that campus. good atmosphere? maybe. plus they have japanese as a major to boot. i smell easy A. as "Adult re-entry." gah, makes it sound like i'm old. /shiver

i'm currently in El Monte, CA at the Longo dealership. i'm having lojack installed on my new ride; a Scion xD. i figured i should give an update since it is a bit of a wait... and i have my vaio, they internet... score?

i should talk about music? on the LM end, i'm so backed-up on checking out my music/mp3s, it's fabulous. 1000+ singles/albums i have not skimmed through. i bought a 500gb a month or 2 ago. strictly for music and a back-up for my mix tape data.

on the what i recommend side, a few mentionables have actually been good, but that's just recently in my opinion. mainly being after summer, meaning since fall started.

aira mitsuki. only the 1st track on her album for good. it was a mix tape from a different approach.
makai - stars. currently listening to it here as i type. uplifting? pop..?
meg. her newest album was okay. probably the single she released afterwards was bette ;x
m-flo?! where you at fools. well, verbal a recent song w/ ?? i forgot her name.
crystal kay. her new album was good. if i remember, half of it was english.

hey jpop, dance, etc fans. LM here. i've been trying to make a mix recently and i'm having a difficult time selecting songs. i wouldn't say difficult... more like i'm very picky this time around. /sigh

i really would love to release a new mix tape soon. (my goal was end of august). i guess some releases i expected to be good end up something i'd pass on.

LM is sad. like "someone ate my piece of albacore belly nigiri" sad.

i can either wait a bit more, try harder and force out a mix, i don't know.

on my next session, i'll look through my old stuff and try to mix 'em up with new songs. some of the new songs i really like but they're soo different from what i usually mix with. not necessarily a bad thing but worth looking into. there's a song i'm waiting for it's release at the moment... so if that turns out to have a decent bpm, i can go with that ;)

in the mean time, leave song suggestions!! i can't guarantee me using them but it'll help with ideas on what genre or path to follow up. -LM

Yoko Ishida!! first off, Yoko Ishida was the main reason i decided to go to AX. i sometimes get confused when i here her name at times. i wasn't sure if it was the Yoko that either does uplifting themes or euromix/para para versions of anime themes. but of course, it's the same person. she went on and sang the AMG themes, etc. then transforms her dress into a skirt and goes "let's para para!"

weeeeeeeeee! ;]

i was hoping for her to sings songs from her Yocomix3 album... but i knew it wasn't gonna happen. but man, watching Yoko-san dance para-para was just so entertaining to me. sooo cute. i wish she had a crowd as big as Shoko-tan's.

Jyukai. jyu-kai? ohhhh. i completely forgot who Jyukai was all the way until they performed. ohh, fate/stay night... an anime i was suppose to re-watch. their half was good. i love how they came out hardcore, then realize-ing were a happy crowd, they soften'd up to us and i believe she got comfortable and took in all the emotions; overcame with joy.

Shoko Nakagawa. Shoko's voice has it's unique-ness. i sometimes prefer the OG of a cover she does and vice-versa. dude, it's Shokotan. from a wotaku prespective i respect her much. during and after her performance, i respect her overall. hard to explain so i'll move to the show.

Shokotan did about 5 cosplay changes. one cool thing was that she got Asuka from NGE to be incorporated in her show. i was not famliar with her original songs but i do remember singing along Tenshi no Thesis. omg, she's sooo... genki. what crack'd me up was at the end of the show, she got her cell phone and took pictures of the audience. that's just so like her. she also tried to teach us "giza" and she surprised me on how well her english was. cute and simple.

AX. i didn't dress up. i was wearing shorts and a hoodie both days, differ colors. only things i spent money on was parking(2x$7), food($10), fri/sat pass($25). i think that's it. and i only took 2 pictures; C.C.(code geass) and Maka(Soul Eater).

lots of good music have been popping up. i think i have to run through kmc for the hidden good stuff again.

so it has been almost one year since i decided to mix japanese music. if you are a new listener, i can't exactly describe them. you can't exactly skim through it after download. you just hit play and listen.

two things will happen.
1) you will listen, forget about it, then notice the mix is over. it's made to be just played as background music like it was one long song.
2) you will listen, notice the transitions i have chosen to the next song. you are probably the type that like non-stop dance mixes.

but i'm pretty sure there's other ways of listening. some were made for my personal use to listen to depending on my mood. it's all about if you like it or not. i'll admit it's not for everyone and will be happy to upload for those who like them.

i did have guidelines i made for myself but towards the recent mixes, i decided to adjust them. one example, never use the artist twice in one mix.

i have gotten a gooooood response to my "Perfume GAME mix tape". thank you! to the person who said "what's the point of it", /sigh. it's just another way to listen to the album.

what else to talk about?

i come home with a sore body and one of the things i check'd out was the new m-flo PV: love comes and goes.

the new m-flo loves song... /sigh what's happening to them.
collab is good but with 5ppl?! it didn't even seem'd balanced to me.
it might grow on me. should have been "loves" melody.
what surprised me was YOSHIKA was in it. i feel like they pity Ryohei at times. was nice to see Emi in there even though she switch'd companies i believe. Emyli was okay so i didn't mind. LISA... i don't know. too many small things.

so much good music i can't wait to find time to mix.

(love this manga. i can re-read v8 over and over, hehe.) all of them are a bit different but that's because i think i was trying to find the style i prefer. in the end it's all of them. it's funny how i really prefered m-flo/taku stuff earlier then i shifted to nakata yasutaka's style. and if you haven't notice'd, female j-vocal is the best, haha.

did i have any favorites? hard for me to rate my stuff. i listen to my stuff all the time when i'm driving to class. i know tape9 will always be someone's favorite. it's just full of nostalgic songs and nobuchika's "lights". i mean c'mon. tape5 was made after a mini-hiatus i had. it's impact was pretty good. i think it had the most variety and still sounded great. i can talk about each tape... but i really want to stay at a humble level.

after all, i'm just a amateur.

with 2008 around the corner, i'm just gonna say it. i won't have time to make tapes at the rate i have been. i decided to go full-time this term. gah, i hate college. and i need to find a part-time job to accompany it. i will be moving out late jan/mid-feb. i will also be doing a study abroad in china/taiwan before summer. i don't know, 2008 sounds really demanding for me. i'm just trying to graduate fall '08 so i can be on my way to japan a.s.a.p.

so if you enjoy'd my music, i'm happy you did. feel free to share with a friend while i get my life on. for now, LM will be on hiatus. i will mix again.

last tape of the year! had to recompose the album 3 times. this is what turn'd out. really wanted to use miki imai's honto no kimochi... but it was wise to leave out.

what's E? E can mean extended or extra. it's tape12 but as an extra track. it's tape12 all in one mp3. so a true non-stop extended version. it was suggested a while back if i can do this and this time i think it will be okay because the whole tape is made with the bpm the same all the way through.

another reason i did this is because i have the game "beats" for psp. beats is a music game allowing to incorporate your music files and play a rhythm game with them. i couldn't figure out how to create a playlist so i can play with all my mixes non-stop... so i decided to make a big mp3 for this album so i can play continuously. but of course, you don't have to do this. listening to it is just fine. this is just a bonus if you have a psp and beats or as is.

wow what a week.

first off, my desktop has bit the dust. in my attempt to reformat for the Xth time, it finally gave in. so i'm writing this from my back-up desktop i bought in 2002. starting tomorrow/friday afternoon, considering my situation overall, i'll be mixing on a new vaio notebook <3

since i was kind of anticipating this, all my mixing files have been back'd-up accordingly.

i'm very curious on how tape12 will turn out now. i've got some new material to tinker around with. so look foward to it.

now "when" to look foward to it is the Q. i haven't work'd at a job in a long time. my body is getting adjusted and waking-up at 7am isn't helping. i'm basically tired all the sudden. work, eat, nap, class, dinner, daily d/l's, sleep. i want to mix or play some video games...! i was working on something before my pc crash'd but i can't tinker with it until my classes are over and i get use to the new vista-oriented notebook.

arrrgh. and i still haven't finish'd rapidsharing the other mix tapes.

_ unrelated but man... so i just finish'd d/l'ing the m-flo remix album "electriCOLOR". yeah, i'm late. part of my catch-up was to do a DDL (direct download) for my albums. i started release-ing late june. it's just more convenient for ppl who new comers? or to let a friend know about them? haha

as for DDL tapes 7 and up, i don't think i'll need to update their tags but i will rapidshare them soon enough. tapes 7+ were just release'd october, just want then to float around a bit.

i will still be compiling mix tapes. simply because this is how i have always wanted to listen to jpop. depending on my mood and time, 1-2 tapes a month. also depends on the stuff i want to experiment with below.

as for 2008, there's something i might try. haven't thought of a title for this series, but since i left some mixes short/partial, i might extend them with more songs...?

there's also an idea of doing "mash-ups" (i prefer the word medley). basically a mix tape except it's about 90 seconds per song or a verse or two, then leads right into the next. so a mini-mix tape-ish thing. but these will be one track/file. maybe theme-based... like all one artist, or anime, or something. maybe not.

this mix tape in particular is a dance/remix session. like tape8, it's non-stop and was made within one day. back when i started listening to jpop, remixes were abundant and were not like today's. exception of a few of course. it was almost a standard to release a single with at least one remix. now it's buy the album, wait a few weeks, buy the remix album. dive on in.

the first track is "service" from me. two-step artist ai ichikawa only released 3 singles. one entitled "q-tee" (which i'll mix future-wise) which was a theme for "platonic chain". really hope you enjoy it.

turns out i didn't take the job.

so i've been listening to tape5 and turns out i like it more than 6. both are good enough for me. just thinking of how 7 should/might be.

my next exam is in 2wks (i think). so tape7 should be after that. all in all, i just want to release 10tapes by the year's end. until then.

i can't wait til ffxi's new expansion comes out :D

i finish'd deciding tape6's playlist. it recycles a few artists i used and introduces "ak" and "jazztronik ft. ___". will be up before wkend. kinda found a part-time job so wanted to release it before things get busy.

11tracks, 49:31 length. includes 1 main mix.

notes:
tape5, i like it but kinda rush'd it on my behalf. some transitions to the next song seem so-so to me. good side, i added included more artists i have not used yet. soo tape6 will be on par w/ tape4 (i think). and i personally love'd tape4 minus the fact it was short.

umm... haha... she get you down down down dobbie dobbie da da. j/k. i had ckay's jp version but switched it. the first 5 tracks were part of a potential mix6 (had 10+ list)... then i broke it up and decided to add it as a mini-mix intro. it makes this tape over an hr... so i think it was a good choice. i had rip's "blow" song in there somewhere but switched it to "galaxy" to where it's at. heh, 2 songs entitled "galaxy" woot. in the longest time, i finally got to use erika's "fantasy". annnd i think that's it.

i just took my first finance exam and got a 91 :)
i also got my 2nd 75 job in ffxi, taru drk ^^;
now i have a bit of time to mix before i get preoccupied again.

sooooo mix tape 5 is in the mix!! at this very moment!!
plus, i wanted something fresh/new to listen to while studying. hehe.

i'll be encoding tape4 tonight and upload tomorrow.

tape4 will just be a 10 track (see previous post) non-stop mix. it's length is 37:53. not too shabby. reason, if you need, is i just found all those tracks and tweak'd it for listening. if i were to add another mini-mix it'll take a while... like... a week due to my schedule and free time.

i had to reformat this pc a few hours ago which had my files and such due to a corrupted windows/system file... meaning mix4 has been delayed a bit. gotta re-find the files i used (which were on many back-up discs), load onto this pc, re-mix the tape, etc. luckily i listed the songs i planned to use on this blog. yay!

i did do some playing around on the list beforehand and decided to go with the first 10 songs as the main mix. side2 should be a 20min-ish thing. it's just like the other mixes after all.

i might switch out part2 of volume2 out. i have it's original counterpart which starts off with Emi Hinouchi's Okay and ends with Crystal Kay's Sweet Friends. 6 songs? maybe. i'm still deciding while i compile volume3.
